"...one of my predecessors in 1371, Simon of Sudbury, had
his head cut off, and it was then the revolting peasants
played football with it at the Tower of London"...

..says Justin Welby as he resigns in disgrace. Did that really
happen? Wat Tyler, Walworth the Lord Mayor of London, Richard II,
I know about I think.

I seems history has changed. This is the wiki
article on Wat Tyler:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wat_Tyler

I thought Walworth (Lord Mayor of London) stabbed Wat
Tyler (who headed the Peasants Revolt) with his
dagger - which is immortalised in the Coat of Arms
of the City of London.

In the disorder that threatened to overwhelm them
Richard stepped forward and raising his standard
announced "I will be your leader!"

That calmed the situation. The peasants were later
rounded up and executed.
