A list of the oldest rockers who are still touring
puts Debbie Harry (a sprightly 79yrs) behind many
others, Rolling Stones included.

sacroiliac

"A joint that connects the sacrum and ilium bones of
the pelvis, and is responsible for transferring
weight from the upper body to the lower limbs".

"finger popping 24hr shopping"? Who says random music
videos can't be educational as well as enjoyable?

No doubt they picked it up from "The Hucklebuck"

Do the hucklebuck, do the hucklebuck
If you don't know how to do it, boy you're out of luck
Push your partner out then you hunch your back
Start a little movement in your sacroiliac
Wiggle like a snake, wobble like a duck
That's the way you do it when you do the hucklebuck

There was a whole period when popular musicians were competing with one
another to invent new dances, to go with their new song. In many cases
the song lasted longer than the dance did.

The only such invention that had any staying power was The Twist.

There's still a lot of that going on. At the Regina Pats hockey games,
there are various interludes where some non-hockey-related things
happen, One of them is the spinning wheel that stops on a dance, music
is played, and fans are invited to "show us your moves". A few of the
dances are "Baby Shark", "The Shopping Cart", "The Floss", and "The Lawn
Mower".

The kids love it.

The Auntie Jack Show was an Australian TV series in 1972-73. The same
time that Monty Python appeared. The two shows didn't borrow from each
other, but both focused on surreal humour.

As it happens, Auntie Jack had a dance. Here are some of the words.

You put your right foot up on your nose
Elbow down on your toes
You put your stomach down on the ground
Kind of bounce it all around

[Chorus: Chorus & (Aunty Jack)]
And your doin', your doin'
Doin' the Aunty Jack.

The originator of the Hokey Pokey recently died.
The funeral was a disaster.
The trouble started when they put his left foot into the coffin.

When the inventor of the USB socket died, they got him into the coffin
OK, but there was a glitch at the graveside. They started lowering the
coffin ... then they had to raise it again, turn it around, and again
lower it into the grave.

I'm not sure that things actually went in that order (song --> dance).
But certainly the early 60s was a major period for dance crazes.
(As documented in:
Feel so wild you could break somebody's heart
Just doing the latest dance craze
https://jonimitchell.com/music/lyricsprint.cfm?id=192)

As you say, the twist is the only one most people can remember; but
Chubby Checker, having had the big hit with "The Twist" (covering Hank
Ballard's earlier song) went in search of further dances and covered ...
"The Hucklebuck"!

Public service announcement; move your sacro-iliac(s) as little as possible, it
is routine for shifting at those joints to set off a few weeks or months of
sciatica.

"ILIAC" was the wordle (powerlanguage) word a day or two ago , i got it
in 4 ("manes", "doric", "lilac") without knowing what it meant: "of or
relating to the ilium"

perhaps if capitalised it could mean: "pertaining to the greek city"

Tediously, in anatomy the ilium and the ileum are distinct structures that
often lie close together.

The real Ilium, or the one someone mistook for Troy?
