Post by Denise H. G.Is there a noun for the seven days in a week as a whole?
I mean, does 'weekdays' mean all the seven days in a week?
The more I look at this question, the less I understand it.
Yes, there is a noun for the seven days in a week as a whole. It is "week."
Since every day belongs to a week (so far as weeks are concerned, there are
no intercalary days), the word for a day regardless of when it falls in a
week is "day." The term for a week beginning on Sunday and ending on
Saturday, as most Western calendars are arranged, is "calendar week."
In American English, "weekdays" mean the days Monday through Friday.
"Weekend" means the days Saturday and Sunday (together).
