Sorry, puns are part of the territory.
Recently, someone mentioned hearing a three-syllable "and" from a
personage from the American South. I can't match that easily, but
here's a clip where you get to hear "on" with a dipthong. Roughly like
"ah-un" (/A @n/ or /A Un/, perhaps).
You can also here a prominent dipthong in an occurence of "design" with
the same -un as the glide drops. (Or is this a tripthong?)

tools. The speaker is from Georgia, IIRC, but does not have the
stereotypical "Deep South" accent. You can hear the example mainly in
these two dipthongings. Georgia seems to include both the Midlands and
the Deep South accents.
Fun fact: the voice actors chosen by the Bell System (and others) for
the telephone time announcements were from Atlanta, and chosen for a
fairly neutral accent that would be understood by almost all Americans.
There are web articles and IIRC utoube fillums about the recording of
the time announcements.
