Instrumentals can have the knack of saying it best?
This instrumental (by Link Wray) was banned all over
the world for (supposedly) "inciting violence".

Other instrumentals that had a message which
transcended words?

I don't have many examples, but this understated Keith
Emerson performance stuck a knife or two into Nixon's
Vietnam War. Some of the old crooners were livid.

He burnt the US flag on stage at the Royal Albert Hall. That got him a
life-time ban, which fortunately was reversed in more recent times.
The basist also burnt his draft card at another gig.

Thanks for that. Ironic that he moved to California,
where he could more conveniently blow his brains out.

"The Nice" were the first band I ever saw, at a local
Surrey Tech. They were playing this and it made quite
an impression.

But Nixon inherited it from Johnson.

Hey! Hey! LBJ
How many kids did you kill today?

Or, as Pete Seeger sang:

My mother said not to put beans in your ears.

and added a verse for Mrs Jay's son, Albie.

Hey Albie Jay, you've got beans in your ears.

Now, of course, it's Genocide Joe who's killing kids, in far greater
numbers than LBJ ever managed.

Why. Have they tried saying nothing?

Three consecutive posts, saying nothing in particular. Way to go,
'Arrison.

I have drawn attention before to your rarration, gleaned
in no small part from Mao's Little-Read Book?

YouTube did me a favour. Some of us might remember
"Famous Last Words" (a book). "They couldn't hit an
elephant from this dist..." and "Bugger Bognor!" to
mention a couple.

Lynyrd Skynyrd lead singer's last words weren't "If God
intends for us to die today"? He must have reflected
on those words as he took most of his band members with
him to their deaths.

Very few instrumental hits in the UK that I know of, but
(Albatross aside) this was a huge one:

It seems strange now to see musicians smoking while they play - I mean
smoking cigarettes, not overheating, sweating, and steaming. I had the
same feeling recently watching reruns of 'Call My Bluff'.

Joe Jackson was deadset against the smoking ban.
