Hi,

I know that it's not the proper group to ask for such things but it's the
place that many native speakers visit and you are my only hope. There's a
song that I cannot find lyrics to and that keeps me awake at night. This
songs was used in a Polish-Canadian film called "The Young Magician" and
the worst thing is that I don't even know its title. The only thig I have
is a very bad copy ripped directly from an original video tape as it is
used in the credits.

I would be very happy if someone could help me to complete the lyrics.
Below is all I could catch out and the dotted parts as well as the chours
are the most problematic. I can hear different things each time I listen
to these parts and just prefer not to suggest anything and let native
speakers decide. I know that the copy is bad, but this is the only one I
have and even cannot search for the song on p2p cause I don't know its
English title and a translation of a Polish one doesn't help much :(

Will anyone help me in this matter, please?

Here's the link to the mp3 http://www.artax.republika.pl/song.mp3 (845 KB)

And the lyrics I managed to make out:

I know your dreams
........... than yourself
You want to solve all that everyone else
You ..... with me and fly by my fly ???
And we move the sky
You are the hero in all of your dreams
Saving the world with impossible skills
The battles we win and the ...............
And we save the day

Chorus:

(As for the chorus, I'm completely unsure of anything and just don't want
to suggest anything.)

..................................
Just turn around and you know I'll be there
.............................. proof
Cause they know the truth
If I can have anything money can buy
The Earth and the Moon and the stars in the sky
If they were all mine I would share them with you
That's what good friends do

Chorus:

Once again thanks for any help!

Best wishes,
Grzegorz

I wonder if it was specially written for the movie -- according to
IMDB, the original music was by Krzesimir Debski; have you checked to
see if that leads you anywhere? (The IMDB link is at

Difficult for me, too, but it starts with something like

We live together in our [something]
We share the hard times, we share the good
We stick together and side by side
{Very uncertain on the last line: perhaps "We'll be together in all we
try"?)

Maybe others can decipher the chorus better than I can.

Well, there's a Polish version of this song called "Przyjaciel wie"
performed by Krzysztof Antkowiak (as a child he recorded some albums and
currently he disappeared from the music industry). However, the Polish
lyrics have little common with the English ones. The original Polish song
was released years ago on Krzysztof Antkowiak's record called "Zakazany
Owoc" and as far as I know it's not available on any format now. There has
probably never been any soundtrack album released for this movie and I
have no idea if the English version of the song has ever been available on
any single record or tape. In the credits the song is listed as
"Przyjaciel wie" and this title leads to a Polish version only.

It is, just need to dig for some vinyl records in antique shops. :-)
If you're too lazy, try looking for some P2P networks - I've found quite a
lot of Antkowiak's pre-teen works.
Well, I know that this song is available for downloading from P2P and
Antkowiak's records can be bought at various Internet auctions. I just
wanted to say that his albums are no longer released and cannot be bought
normally in shops. I have a copy of this song (from P2P), but it comes
from an LP and I don't know if it was ever released on a CD. But I haven't
found the English version on P2P. As for the soundtrack album, I've never
heard of it and there's no information about it anywhere, so it probably
was never released.

Here's my attempt:

I know your dreams like you know them yourself
You want to soar over everyone else
You can come with me and fly by my side
And we rule the sky
You are the hero in all of your dreams
Saving the world with impossible schemes
The battles we win and the dragons we slay
And we save the day

Chorus:
We'll live together it's understood
And share the hard times and share the good
We stick together and side by side
We'll live together in all we ride**

When everyone doubts you and no one will care
Just turn around and you know I'll be there
Friends are the ones who will never need proof
Cause they know the truth
If I can have anything money could buy
The Earth and the Moon and the stars in the sky
If they were all mine I would share them with you
That's what good friends do

Chorus:
We'll live together it's understood
We'll share the hard times and share the good
We stick together and side by side
We'll live together in all we ride**

** I cannot make out this word. It should end in a "d" but sloppy
enunciation obscures it.

I listened to the last line quite a few times and I hear "...live together
it's always right". The only thing that appears quite apparent is the word
"it's", but it doesn't make any sense after all. It's probably clearer when
listening to the version encoded at 128 kbps

IMDb tells us that the original music for "Cudowne dziecko" was written
by Krzesimir Debski. That information might be useful to you. Happy

That's right, but as I said in reply to Harvey's post, I don't know if
there has ever been any soundtrack album for this film. Actually there are
no records anywhere to prove that anything like this ever existed. The
original Polish song is performed by Krzysztof Antkowiak and its name is
"Przyjaciel wie". In the end credits it also appears with its Polish title
and the only additional information is that the English lyrics were
written by Howard Forman. The original song was written by Jacek Cygan,
music by Krzesimir Debski. However, these things aren't much helpful in
identifying the English version. I'm almost certain it's not sung by
Krzysztof Antkowiak. He was 13 at that time (1986) and this song seems to
be sung by a woman. I really investigated into this matter very deep and
found really nothing, but I don't claim that I did everything.
